Encoded Media's journey from its inception to the present
Encoded Media has worked with a number of big names across several sectors. They’ve aided various other companies to meet their communication goals and add value to their organisation.
Prior to Encoded Media’s inception, its founders collaborated on pioneering projects such as:
The launch of the UK’s first B2B online video website in 1996
Some of the UK’s first live webcasts with BT in 1997
The design and operation of Europe’s first satellite-based IPTV platform with Eutelsat and GE in 1998
Their turnover has quadrupled in the time they have been tenants at OBC and the company has now expanded into larger units to better accommodate them.
Providing solutions for the NHS
One company Encoded Media has provided solutions for is Rotherham Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, which provides continuous professional development for clinicians at their Medical Education Centre. A key element of this training is medical simulation which was delivered via an old DVD-based video recording system that needed to be replaced with a flexible, user-friendly digital system. The Trust evaluated several products and decided to adopt Encoded Media’s Video Publisher system which allows the user to connect any standard video camera or webcam. Video Publisher will record the speaker together with whatever they want to show on their computer screen.
Encoded Media installed the system in the Medical Simulation Centre, provided training for users, and continues to offer ongoing support as and when necessary. This means that more students can watch and benefit from each medical simulation session. Recordings can be easily saved to a library, giving trainers and clinicians immediate access to examples of best practice.
Why Encoded Media chose the Ongar Centre
Encoded Media decided to make the move to the Ongar Business Centre (OBC) in 2006 due to a number of factors.
The company appreciated the highly competitive pricing of the centre, which they felt was appropriate due to the convenience it afforded them in other areas.
The centre’s free parking was appealing, specifically due to the inclusion of electrical vehicle (EV) charging.
The centre’s fibre broadband.
The clean, modern and well-maintained building.
The convenience of the location being ideal for Encoded Media’s business, just a ten minute drive from the M11, 15 minutes from the A12, 20 minutes from the M25 and 25 miles south of London Stansted Airport.
The easy access links to central London.
How the Ongar Business Centre has benefited Encoded Media
Being based at OBC has helped Encoded Media minimise the time and money spent on property maintenance. The centre provides the latest security, cleaning services, as well as other useful facilities meaning they are able to concentrate on expanding their business.
