Plum Accounting was founded by Sally O’Gara in 2017 with a purpose of making a real difference to business owner’s lives. More than ‘just an accountant’, they are passionate about helping owners of small to medium sized businesses to build them to be successful and profitable, so that their clients can achieve their business and personal goals and live the lifestyle they choose.
On initial contact from a prospective client, Plum Accounting undertake a fact-find, including a short discovery call, where they find out about:

The business
What works well for them
What challenges they are facing
If Plum Accounting are a good fit, they will arrange a Proposal Meeting, where they carry out a valuable assessment of the accounting function of the client’s business. Then, they suggest the services appropriate for the size and stage of the client’s business, which they can agree by means of an electronic proposal at the meeting. Fees are fixed and agreed in advance and the payments are set up by monthly direct debit.
Plum Accounting’s business goals for this year are to double turnover and offer some seminars on topics such as ‘How to grow your business’ and ‘Cashflow management’.

Why Plum Accounting chose Ongar Business Centre
Plum Accounting were looking for somewhere local that offered virtual tenancy and found out about the Ongar Business Centre online.
As well as having business post delivered, there is the added option of being able to hire meeting rooms which means that clients can be met when required, and there is also the opportunity to connect with other businesses at the centre.
“I currently work from home, so I don’t need to rent an office. It’s great that I can have my business post delivered to the centre and hire a meeting room, when required, so that I can meet in a professional space with my clients.”
How OBC have helped Plum Accounting
As a virtual tenant since 2017, Plum Accounting have been able to access free business support from the Let’s Do Business Group, and the advice they have given has been very valuable.
OBC has also assisted with Plum Accounting’s website development by providing a contact to creative and digital content agency, Pillory Barn. After looking at OBC’s website, Plum Accounting became interested in the website developers who created the website. Plum Accounting then contacted Pillory Barn and they are now working together.
